This dog friendly trail is 90% single track and 10% double track with a 2290 elevation gain. The final .5 miles is the steepest and most technically challenging. Reward yourself at the top with views of Lake Tahoe, Ward Valley, and Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.

LENGTH: 17 miles (out and back)

DIFFICULTY: moderate

DIRECTIONS: From Tahoe City, head south on West Lake Blvd. (CA-89). Turn right onto Granlibakken Rd. Turn left onto Rawhide Dr. At the end of Rawhide, continue past the Forest Service Gate and begin the Rawhide Trail Climb. At roughly 2.6 miles, bear right at the fork that takes you into Page Meadows. You will reach a handful of more intersections, just stay right. At the Tahoe Rim Trail “T” intersection, turn right. At the next “T” intersection, turn left and begin a gentle climb. At the Scott Peak intersection (5.8 miles), turn left. The last .5 miles features technical rock gardens to the top of Lakeview chair. Return the way you came up.
